Jerome (Jerry) C. Short, RPH, MPH
Jerry was a surveyor for AAAHC for 16 years, focusing on primary care organizations such as community health, student health, American Indian health, Alaska Native health, and military health, as well as Patient-Centered Medical Home and Dental Home. He has consulted for 20 years with all these types of providers on accreditation and operations, with a strong demand for his experience in student health and Indian health for which he has makes presentations at national and regional conferences. Jerry is a Registered Pharmacist and served as a U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Officer as Chief Pharmacist for several Indian Health Service (IHS) hospitals. He also served as regional pharmacy consultant, Assistant IHS Clinical Research Director, and Administrator and Governing Board member in several IHS hospitals and ambulatory care facilities. Jerry also served as the IHS Program Manager for Accreditation and Certification for all IHS hospitals and ambulatory care facilities, he co-authored the 1st edition of the Indian Health Service Medical Staff Credentialing Resource Handbook and is the recipient of the Meritorious and Distinguished Service Medals, the two highest USPHS awards.
